A few months ago Elizabeth had a real opportunity to help in our community and the honour of being accepted as a volunteer photographer for NILMDTS. NILMDTS is an organization that provides professional photography to families who have just given birth to stillborn babies and to babies with imminent terminal illnesses at no cost to the parents. The photographer is called at the family’s request usually while still in the hospital and photographs the family’s last moments with their baby. Often these photographs are all the family will have to remind them of their child. The organization was named ‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep’ after the children’s bedtime prayer. Grieving families are also provided with online support groups and other resources to help the family begin to heal.

Here are some photos from Marriam & Peter’s wedding that are featured in the Cultural Wedding Planner, a publication that is full of information and planning tools for couples that want to incorporate their culture into their wedding ceremony. Marriam & Peter were married at St. George’s Orthodox Church in Surrey. Their Coptic Orthodox ceremony is based in centuries of Egyptian tradition and symbolism. Their reception was held at Swan-E-Set golf course in Pitt Meadows and was beautifully decorated with an antique wedding theme.
